Virtualization
Problem: Federal client requested IT services for virtualization infrastructure to run world-wide mission critical software applications.
Work Performed: Implement and utilize virtual platform to run and test mission critical applications for both public and private network environments. Design and deploy production virtual firewalls, application and database systems including configuration of installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of virtualized servers, storage and networking components and assuring fault tolerance with clusters.
Benefits: Better hardware usage rates were archived for the application components, this translated into needing less hardware.
Multiple virtual servers were consolidated onto a fewer physical servers which meant less physical hardware. This reduced space of the required servers and reduced the cooling and electricity costs.
Deployed new application and database servers faster, usually within 30 minutes from existing pre-built templates.
